ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
I’m Tarun Sahu, a Lifecycle & Retention Marketer helping DTC and ecommerce brands turn more customers into repeat buyers through smarter email and lifecycle marketing.
But I didn’t start here.

01
It Started With a Decision to Start Over
After 12th class, I joined Economics Honours at Venky College, Delhi—mostly because it seemed like the right thing to do at the time.
It didn’t take long to realize it wasn’t for me. Instead of forcing myself down a path I wasn’t passionate about, I started exploring. I attended events, took courses, watched countless videos, read books, and experimented with different areas of marketing.
Marketing and business had always been things I was naturally curious about.
So I made a difficult decision. I dropped out of college, took a digital marketing course, and started building my own path. And the rest, as they say, is still being written.
02
Connecting the Dots
What started with learning digital marketing slowly turned into years of internships, jobs, freelance projects, experiments, and responsibilities across different areas of marketing.
Email. Content. Copywriting. Social Media. Influencer Marketing. Advertising. Design. Ecommerce.
I managed teams, worked with designers, learned how campaigns were built, and got involved in customer journeys. I made mistakes. Tried things that worked. Tried things that didn’t.
And eventually, I decided to experience the other side of the table. I started my own ecommerce brand, Mangalsutr.com. That experience changed the way I looked at marketing.
03
What I Do?
Turning Customers Into Long-Term Value
Today, I help DTC and ecommerce brands make more from the customers they've already acquired through:
Lifecycle Email Marketing · Retention · Flows & Campaigns · Segmentation · Customer Journeys · LTV Optimization.
My approach is simple:
Acquire. Retain. Repeat. Grow LTV.
04
Why Lifecycle & Retention?
Because acquiring a customer is only the beginning. A customer shouldn’t be valuable to a brand only once. There is so much opportunity between the first interaction and the next purchase—and that’s where lifecycle marketing becomes powerful.
Acquire → Convert → Engage → Retain → Repeat → Grow LTV
I work across email campaigns, flows, segmentation, personalization, customer journeys, retention strategies, and continuous optimization.
I don’t see email as just another marketing channel. I see it as one of the strongest ways a brand can build a relationship with the customers it already has.
05
Mission
Helping brands acquire customers, drive repeat purchases, and grow LTV.
Not by simply sending more emails. But by understanding customers better, building smarter journeys, creating useful communication, and turning one-time transactions into long-term relationships.
Because sustainable ecommerce growth isn’t only about acquiring more customers. It’s about creating enough value for customers to want to come back.
06
Beyond Marketing
Work is a big part of who I am—but definitely not all of me. I’m a traveller at heart. I love exploring new places, cultures, food, and—most importantly—people. There’s something about stepping into a completely different environment that always gives me a fresh perspective.
I’m also a bit of a sports geek. Football. Cricket. Pickleball. Adventure sports. If there’s a ball, a game, or something slightly adventurous involved, there’s a good chance I’ll want to try it.
I’m naturally someone who likes to explore, experiment, learn, and figure things out.
I think that curiosity outside work has shaped me inside work too.
07
IN PROGRESS
Still Learning. Still Building.
I don’t believe my journey has a perfect ending. I’ve made mistakes. Changed directions. Started things I didn’t finish. Learned things the hard way.
But looking back, I wouldn’t remove those parts. Because every experience—good or bad—added another piece to the puzzle. And I’m still adding pieces.
Today, I’m focused on becoming better at one thing: helping brands turn customer relationships into long-term growth.
LET’S BUILD SOMETHING THAT MAKES CUSTOMERS COME BACK.
LET’S BUILD SOMETHING THAT MAKES CUSTOMERS COME BACK.
LET’S BUILD SOMETHING THAT MAKES CUSTOMERS COME BACK.
If you’re building something in ecommerce and want to improve retention, lifecycle marketing, repeat purchases, email revenue, or customer LTV, I’d love to hear what you’re working on.
